Sand Mountain Farmers Market Announcement:

 We have had great customer response to the new market.  The number of growers has increased to offer a wide variety of produce.  On July 5th we had a blackberry pancake breakfast-local blackberries were used in the pancakes and syrup.  Sim's family returned to the market with new honey.  There were cantaloupes, beans, corn, okra, blackberries, squash, green tomatoes, breads and eggs.  Each week is expected to bring new offerings.  Regular events are 1st Saturday-pancake breakfast and 3rd Saturday-cooking demo from local cooks.  Other events will be scheduled according to the season.

 The North Sand Mountain Farmers’ Market in Sylvania is having Kids Day this Saturday, July 12th  from 8AM to 11 AM.  There will be a balloon artist, face painting and 4-H fun, along with cooking and sampling of locally grown fruit and vegetables.

 The North Sand Mountain Farmers’ Market in Sylvania is having Cooking demonstrations and tips by Sonya Jones, local nutritionalist on, July 19th, using produce from the market.  The market is open from 8AM to 11 AM.  Buy watermelons, tomatoes, okra, corn, beans and more from your local growers.
